Eclipse Doom Festival VI
Soul's Silence
Bullet Course
Lachrimatory
Hell Light
A Casa:
Os shows:
Soul's Silence
Stay Doomed!

Eclipse Doom Festival VI
Soul's Silence
Bullet Course
Lachrimatory
Hell Light
Saturday, July 6, 2013. Hole Club, São Paulo/SP (Brazil).
In the last 6th of July, the city of São Paulo received Eclipse Doom Festival's 6th edition - the biggest Doom Metal festival in the country.
In this edition, the shows were in charge of bands Soul's Silence (São Paulo), Bullet Course (Curitiba), Lachrimatory (Curitiba) and Hell Light (São Paulo).
A very pleasant, friendly and extremely intimate atmosphere marked that night! Not only the local city dwellers, but people from out of SP (as from SP countryside, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, for example) attended anxiously with fixed eyes on every and each detail. In fact, could be noticed the presence of various other brazilian Doom Metal bands' members, making the festival's friendly atmosphere to stand out.
The Club:
Hole Club is at Augusta Street and of an easy location to get there and, for that, was the perfect place to the festival realization. It's some kind of basement in a commercial gallery in the centre. Full club, it would not be an exaggeration to say that doomster could identify with and feel comfortable in that space.
The Shows:
Soul's Silence
The first band to play was Soul's Silence, natural from SP state. A novelty to great part of the public attending to the event, who hadn't yet seen the band's live presentation.
Original and creative, the band showed their work un-retouchably, giving start to the memorable night. It mus be said that Soul's Silence executes a very distinctive sound from the other bands we would listen to later. I must point out the drummer Sergio Barsant's virtuosity and technique, which gave a special touch to that band's presentation.
We're longing for the band's physical record for soon!
Bullet Course
A few moments later, comes to the stage Bullet Course, a band from Curitiba that's got on their line-up as bassist and vocalist Daiton Arkn, one of the festival's producers. Already at the introduction, the band showed their main characteristic: the notorious agressiveness, yet in contrast with the beautiful and dramatic melodies from Cielinszka Wielewski (who's also a Doom Metal BR collaborator and Persephone Dark Clothes brand owner)'s Cello.
Death/Doom music with Post Metal elements that sounds strong, honest and direct. Suprising and of the highest quality.
Lachrimatory
The veterans from Lachrimatory, the third band in that night, were expected by many including me, an admirer of the band for a few years who also couldn't the them live previously. It would be fair here to point the competent and virtuous musicians, but I must focus to the sensorial aspects of the presentation. The songs played by the group sound wonderfully mellancholic and dramatic. It was possible to understand what each song was transmitting without necessarily knowing the lyrics. Mixing known songs with some previously unheard ones, the show was very involving and each song from the group penetrated everything and everyone. It was left to us to stand astonished as we witnessed all the vocalist Ávila Schultz's expressiveness while he led the band.
Hell Light
The Funeral Doom band from São Paulo Hell Light masterly gave the final touch to that night.
I confess I was hypnotized for a few minutes by the band's sound. Every and each compliment would be of endless redundancy, as the band dispenses commentaries and gets close to perfection. Fabio de Paula's clean vocals, alternating with his growls, are in fact close to be perfect. Drummer Phil Motta's performance also stands out for the intensity that he makes use. They are, undoubtedly, one of the greatest names in national Doom Metal, and I say it's for us an immense pride having them as brazilian Doom Metal representatives.
In the conclusion guise, what's left is to thank Preludium Productions for the initiative in organizing and realizing a festival of this magnitude in our country. The event's quality gets bigger and bigger each edition, rendering itself as and reference to national Doom Metal.
I also thank in the name of the presents to the sponsor and supporters, for believing the festival and contributing to its realization.
May it come the next ones!
